Support ?

You might be aware that the 2010 football World Cup is nearly upon us. Its being played in South Africa starting this weekend.

Now I have a little problem of who to support in the tournament.

I am an English Shepherd born in England so that team would seem the obvious choice for my support.

However my Mum and Dad were born in the USA and my family go back quite a few generations in the USA so perhaps that team should be my choice.

Normally this is not a problem and I can happily support both teams against who ever they are playing against.

Only one small, tiny, little problem. On Saturday in their first game of the World Cup its England Vs the USA...

As you are English, you probably put a bet on both :-)

We'll be watching, too. My husband and youngest son are anxious. We'll be rooting for USA but will be happy for our British friends should the UK win.

You are an ENGLISH Shepherd born in ENGLAND and living in ENGLAND, so I say you cheer for the English team:)
That's who I'll be cheering for, since Canada doesn't have a team, and I was born in England.

Hi, some good comments :-)

As we are at a flyball tournament on Saturday I will not get to watch the game :-(

No, Stumpys mum I always get my full alocation of sleep ;-)

I think you are right Karren I will have to nail my colours to the mast and support England in this game (the boss is English so I had better!!!)

I hope your not right Gus, Louie and Callie and that means I bet on the loosing side.

Perhaps I should take Carla's advise put a bet on both sides, now were is the nearest bookie's :-)

Oh, wow. Well... first off, we didn't know your mum and dad were from the US! How cool!
I guess I'd hope for a well-played game - where everyone plays really well. As to outcome.... ???

I'll give my opinion when it's a the other kind of football, as in The New England Patriots..in the meantime, I think that Wiz should take a nice, long nap on the 12th!
