Fuzzy, my aussie, was quite concerned for Chip. He wanted to send Chip some of his own special doggie smells so Chip wouldn't lose his identity :) (Fuzzy hates baths and finds something stinky to roll in as soon as possible so he can get back to 'normal' afterwards!)
My new Mom is a groomer, so we have a bath tub set up with a hand held shower hose thingy. She puts a drop of mineral oil in each of my old blind eyes, to protect them from soap. I think she does that to all the doggies. She washes my face with Baby Shampoo, and never gets water over my nostrils, as that is scary. Then she uses more bubbles on my body. I get rinsed with that warm gentle shower thingy, and I get to shake all over the bathroom. She towels me off, and I go into a cage with gentle heat coming on me for 15 minutes.
Because I am a poodle(mid-size, about the same size as you), then I get hand brush-dried to make my hair all fluffy. Then I feel so good that I have to roll in the back yard.
I love my bath as for 3-1/2 years after my original Dad died, I was in a terrible home where they never had me groomed or bathed. My hair was all matted up, even on my face, and it was pulling and making my skin hurt.
I had lots of medical problems, they never took me to a vet, and I felt terrible. Now, my Mom has had two major surgeries done on me, and I feel like a youngster again. I still have to have one of my eyes removed, because of glaucoma, the other one has a cataract, but that will be nothing compared to what I have been through.
Be very glad that you have a Mom who cares for you, there are lots of doggies who don't even have homes.

What a darling dog this is. Thanks for this sweet video.
He actually was very well behaved in the bathtub!! Riley usually tries to make her way out of the tub...
