Go to bed

I go to obedience training each week on a Wednesday evening. We have a test coming up in the near future so I am doing homework in the back garden. But I have a problem with a command called 'go to bed'.

Its quite hard to do as you have walk over to a blanket and then lie down on it as if you are actually going to bed.

I keep missing the target, this to much in front of the blanket.

To much behind.

Huston we have touchdown, the Wizz has landed !

OK where is the treat you promised me ?

Chip & Agility

Chip, not satisfied just doing flyball, has started doing Agility training as well.

It looks a bit different to flyball, they have jumps but these ones have poles across them, like horses have when they do jumping.

There are tunnels to go through. I think Chip likes these being a terrier.

Weaves, these look very hard to work out.

Walks that you have to go along, which are off the ground.

And a really high A frame that you climb over.

It all looks really complicated to me.

Last training

We had our last training session on Sunday for a few weeks. The club is at two tournaments in a row this weekend and next at Fairview farm run by the Jets. Then its the British Championships in Warwickshire. I went last year but only as a spectator and I should hopefully be competing this time.

This was me doing jumping training on Sunday, it was a really hot and muggy day so we were all a bit lethargic!

Bit of a closer one of me. They say I have a very long tongue, a bit like a lizard!

And Super Chip,

He managed to run a 4.6second leg in training this week and that was at the end of the session and in all the heat. (I just wanted to find a nice cool drink and some shade.)

Hair today

We all had a bit of a brush up today to get rid of any knots or old hair in our coats. As we all working type dogs fortunately we don't have to be groomed all that often, unlike some other breeds.

Who do you think needs it the most from this evidence ?

Yes Dare does (obviously a Blue Merle thing)

Mind you he looks like he enjoyed it!

Cool

Its been quite a bit cooler these last few days in West London and we have even had some long awaited rain so the grass should hopefully get green again soon.

I do prefer it a little cooler so I can have a nice lay down on the cold floor.

That's lovely...

Telekinesis

Can I move that tennis ball with my mind power alone ?

Sooner or later I will...

Garden visitor

Out in our garden its still nice and sunny and we have loads of flowers still in bloom.

I think this one looks interesting.

Apparently some of the flowers also interest visitors into our garden.

Like this little visitor.

But some garden visitors are a bit more permanent.

Boring

It can get a bit tedious being inside sometimes.

You do need a bit of excitement.

Even the back garden can lose its attraction.

Much better...

All the fun of the fair...

The Flyball tournament we went to at the weekend was part of a much bigger doggie event. All sorts of stalls and dog exhibitions and demonstrations going on. There was loads and loads of people and dogs enjoying a day out in the sunshine.

At first there is nothing obviously odd about this scene is there?

But what is this? A dog traveling in its own transport. A bit like Cinderella's carriage on the way to the ball to meet Prince Charming.

And this is another dog being groomed before entering the Dog show.

Now let me make it clear, me and the boss have nothing against dog shows and its obviously s great day out for both the dogs and their owners.

Not sure it would be my cup of tea however and I am not sure that table would take my weight!

My American Cousin

We went to a Flyball tournament today in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. It was at a big dogs show called Just Dog's Live. I did some racing which was great after my break because of the Belgian trip.

This is me dashing down the jumps (looking a bit foxy).

Doing a tight turn on the box.

I think the boss was trying to race me in this picture but for some reason he always seems to stop before I go over the jumps.

Then a nice lady came over and asked if I was an English Shepherd. It turned out that she has an American cousin of mine living with her and she was at the show watching the flyball.

This is her, she is very pretty and her name is Dora.

Its gone...

Ok what has happened to all the green grass in our park?

Its all gone a pale straw colour. The boss says its because the sun has been so hot in the last few weeks and we have not had any rain.

But I think its Chip fault. He has probably worn all the green off the grass by running about on it so fast.

I wonder if his paws have gone green instead?

More Belgium

Some more pictures have arrived taken when Auntie Breeze and Chip were racing in Belgium at the European Championships. The boss couldn't take any as they were racing at the time.

This is another shot of the team, Lightning Bolt.

This is Auntie Breeze jumping in a race.

This is Chip turning on the box to run back with the tennis ball. He does really fast turns.

This is Chip racing as well.

This is all the team at the presentations afterwards when they got a trophy for coming second in their division. The two dogs nearest are Auntie Breeze and Chip.

Chip really enjoys himself at flyball.

Just back from Belgium...

The boss is home from the European Championships in Belgium so I am able to post on the blog again.

Great news, Chip and Auntie Breezes team got second place in their division!

This is the successful team, Lighting Bolt.

It was very, very hot weather and lots of drink was drunk. But not very much tea or soft drinks were drunk apparently...

More news later when they aare all not so tired from all the traveling.

European Championships

Auntie Breeze and Chip are off to the 2010 European Flyball Championships early today. They are going to Brecht in Belgium. Driving down to Dover and through the Channel tunnel by train before driving through France & Belgium to the Championships site. Sounds quite an adventure.

This is a link to the Championships website www.efc2010.be they are both racing with Lightning bolt in Division 7 on Saturday. Wish them both luck.

So as I will not have the boss to help me post on this blog I will update everyone on what happens early next week.

Me and Dare are both staying at home so we will have loads of time to chill out.

I never have a problem chilling out...
