Santa's day off

When you go down the local Park you don't expect to see one off these wandering around the car park.

Perhaps Father Christmas was out walking his dogs as he now has a bit of time on his hands.

To be fair Busy Park where we went today do have a herd of Deer living in it but these were unusually close.

When we got away from them fortunately the boss did let us have a bit of a run about.

Its a big Park so you can see if anyone or any deer, are coming close.

And its a great place for a good run around.

A bit damp

Its been raining a lot round hear recently so its been flooding which isn't nice if it affects your house. Living in London we don't seem to be affected by weather extremes as much as other places. But we still get to enjoy it when it gets wet.

Meet Motorboat Wizz...

Its great fun zooming through the temporary 'lakes' in our Park.

This photo taken today also reminded the boss of the Film 'The Birds' by Alfred Hitchcock  with so many of our feathered friends sheltering there.

And me trying to catch them.

Teddy Bear Christmas

There is a bit of a Teddy Bear theme present wise  in our house this Christmas.
But I think I might recognise someone else in this group picture...

Hope you are having a great Christmas day wherever you are.

Chocoholic

Chip today sneakily stoles some Christmas chocolates and then ate the lot.  Fortunatly it only gave him a bad tummy rather than anything worse.

Terriers never learn...

Too far

Chip thinks that the Christmas present wrapping probably has gone too far now.

Nice Dinner

When the cat starts eating the bosses dinner you know it must smell nice...

Collar Comfort

I think I am starting to get the hang of this collar now and as you can see it does have some uses after all !

Sunday 16 December 2012

I have had an operation...

Having a busy December in the run up to Christmas. Just had a little operation last Wednesday to stop me being 'unusually attractive' a couple of times a year. The operation went really well but have to wear this silly collar.  I am due to race again at Flyball on the 5th of January and apparently I will be fighting fit by then again.

Everyone thinks I look like I am going swimming in it. Its a kinder  version of the cone type collar and I don't bash into the furniture wearing it!

Me and Auntie Breeze were waiting to have or dinner when these photos were taken and as you can see from this one the operation hasn't affected my sense of smell.

Do you think Auntie Breeze has got the hump waiting for her dinner...

Christmas at Chatsworth House

The boss was up in the Midlands for a family Birthday party at the weekend. So they all took the opportunity to go to Chatsworth House to see the Christmas decorations and buy a few gifts. If you haven't been to visit the house it has been used in a few films so you might recognise it.

Its probably  best known film/book wise as the supposed setting for Jane Austins 'Pemberley'  in Pride and Prejudice. It was used as the backdrop for that house in the 2005 film version with Keira Knightly as Elizabeth Bennet. But they do decorate the house up at Christmas and its quite spectacular

They did a Christmas Pantomime theme in the house with lots of famous story's which were quite well done. This is Jack and the bean stalk

and this is not me!

It was quite an unusual setting to see all the decorations and people do come a long way to see them apparently. This is the snow queen in the music room.

The boss says he would like to go back and see the house without all the Christmas decorations as it looked so impressive.

Of course there was one or two bits you could buy. These are just a few bits of Christmas food you could purchase...

But the boss thought the most impressive thing they saw on the visit wasn’t the Christmas decorations but this statue called the veiled lady. How was that carved  in marble!

Raffaele Monti made it  way back in 1864.

Of course as this is a dog blog we do have to have a photo of one who was also visiting at the same time as the boss.

Looks like it is related to Auntie Breeze.

Chips Story

Chips 'story' has just appeared in the latest edition of  of the British Flyball Associations Magazine.

Hopefully if you click on the picture below you will be able to read it without needed a Magnifying glass!

Just to update the story further we are now with Tails we Win Flyball Club.

Wordless Want it Wednesday

Flyball Sunday

Well we raced last Sunday for our new Flyball Club,  Tails we Win. Me and Chip didn't race in the same team for a change and I think this will probably nearly always be the case in our new Club unless we do Multibreed Flyball tournaments.

I raced in the 2nd division with my team for this tournament  there name was Tails we Win. We did very well and I got to run against one of my old Flyball Clubs teams which was great fun for me and the boss!

Chip was racing in the 1st Div with his new team which was called Heads or Tails. He has never raced in the 1st Division at an Open Flyball competition before so this was new territory for both him and the boss.

Chip did really well (of course!) and once he (the boss) sorted out his changes with the new dogs  they really flew. Chip did loads of 4.6 second legs, which is very quick for a 7" height dog and his team got a new fastest race time of 17.63 seconds. They finished 4th in Division 1 which is great for the 1st tournament with the Club.

I think Chip enjoyed himself as much as I did with all our new Club mates.

Saturday 24 November 2012

It was the night before...

Flyball!

We are off tomorrow to our 1st Flyball tournament with our new Flyball Club, Tails you Win tomorrow. So we had a very quite day today so we are not all tired out for tomorrow.

Chip did  his impression of a Cat with a bit of light snoozing.

And finished of the day inspecting what he is hoping is his new food bowl...

Wish us both luck for tomorrow!

Christmas TV Adverts

OK I know its only November but we are already being assailed on TV by advertisements for buying lot of expensive stuff we don't need or want for Christmas already.

This is the 2012 John Lewis advert. This companies ones always seems to be the exception to all the others .

I assume it must have been an English Shepherd herding those sheep :-)

Nice Present

I have been given either a late Birthday or a very early Christmas present to wear with my new Club at my debut flyball tournament on Sunday.

Can you guess from it what our new team colours are? I think that the new harness that Chip has got to wear may also give you a clue.

Not sure Chip thinks that it is his favourite colour...

Sunday 18 November 2012

Sunny day

Me and Chip were training with our new Flyball Team today and have our first flyball tournament with them next week! This is me with Ollie and his boss and as you can see it was  lovely and Sunny for an autumn  day.

My new team are called 'Tails we Win', so hopefully we will from time to time :-)

Back again

The boss is still not back up to speed blog wise but we have been still been busy flyball racing. This is a photo of me with my European Championship Trophy, my European Championship speed trial winners plate, my British  Championship Trophy and my Gold BFA certificate.

With a few 1st place tournament rosettes thrown in for good measure!

Not to be outdone this is Chip with the same awards (we were both in the same team) but he has his BFA Platinum flyball award, a much higher one.

And both of us together (I think Chips in front of my certificate on purpose...)

We are racing again next weekend so its just training tomorrow. But the big news is we have both joined a new Club so will be racing in new teams and with new dogs.... More updates shortly (hopefully!)

Oops

Unfortunately the boss has been a bit remiss this month in keeping this blog updated. So there have been a lot less posts than normal (I will have to have a quite word!)

Things have been getting a bit chilly as winter is now on the way and the last off the seasons apples have been picked from our gardens tree. (I do like to eat the core when the boss has one, minus the pips which apparently can be bad for me)

But although I enjoy a nice juicy apple  I enjoy the treats I get each week when we go obedience training even more.

Which is almost as much as Auntie Breeze enjoys going to obedience with me and working at bring back the dumbbell.

Terrier Tuesday

Do you think good Chips eyebrows actually grow longer in the Sunshine?

Sunday 7 October 2012

Sleep in Sunday

Auntie Breeze would like to have her breakfast in bed every day but particularly on a Sunday.

Obviously she never actually does, but even a Border Collie can hope!

Saturday 6 October 2012

Sunny Saturday

Its always funny how certain dogs always have a knack of finding the very best spot to catch the warm sunshine.

Have a great weekend even if you don't have any sunshine where you are !

A view from the Weekend

I didn't get to race again this weekend as I was still very attractive unfortunately. But Chip did and my old team got second place in their Division.

No action photos of the racing this week but how about this for a spectacular view from the banks of the canal where the flyball racing was held.

Its almost  like a view from an old Constable painting, if you click on the photo with your cursor you will see the full effect.

This  is another view with some swans swiming past, very tranquil.
