Dare stare

Another road walk tonight. I went with Dare again and this is a shot of the him using his stare. Dare is a Border Collie and this is something they are quite good at. When working with sheep they use this 'look' to stare down and control the sheep.

Dare sometimes has a go at controlling the cars as they go past with this stare, not sure that this works as well as it does with sheep...

The clouds looked a bit dark again tonight when we were out so maybe we will have some more rain tomorrow.

Sky

More drizzle today so I had to make do with a road walk. This is me out walking this evening and you can just see Dare peaking over me.

However the weather does make the evening sky look very interesting.

Tent

The Sun came out today and so did the Tents. Apparently we are camping at a flyball event in a few weeks time so the boss was getting them out to check that they were OK.

This is the smallest one.

I decided my job was to guard the tent from anything dangerous that was lurking in the garden.

Practice

Went to flyball practice again and did some run backs from the box.

I get a bit over excited. Well actually a lot over excited, but I did really, really enjoy myself.

I think everyone was very impressed that I can clear the ring netting without a run up. A sort of 4ft hop over. Mind you the boss did'nt seem as impressed as I thought they would be.

Snooze

We had a very active day today down the local park.

Then it started to rain again so we got very wet (Auntie Breeze hid under the bushes when it rained...)

Felt really tired when we got back so I had a little snooze

Sniff

The weather picked up a bit today (hurray) and the boss decided it was safe to give the lawn a cut.

This is Chip having a sniff of the grass and me supervising him just before it was cut, obviously its a terrier thing.

Keep of the grass

The rain has continued on and off this week and I have finally worked out why the boss had this fence put up. Its to keep us off the grass when its wet so we/I cannot run mud all over the house and the furniture.

Now that doesn't seem fair to me ...

Lighting Strikes Flyball

Another flyball weekend. We are now racing with a brand new club called Lightning Strikes, long story apparently. They were racing at the Chilterns Show on both Saturday & Sunday. The weather was very odd, one minute raining and the next sunny!

This is Dare decked out in his new uniform. He was doing run backs in the ring before the races this weekend with one of the teams. He is still a starters dog but this will give him some real experience of the ring and the crowd.

Breeze & Chips team is called Grease Lightning sounds like a really cool name.

Rain

Well as forecast its chucking it down with rain here today. We had loads of thunder and lightning last night as well.

Its not much fun with so much rain. Paws crossed it gets better soon.

Where has Summer gone?

After a great start summer seems to have fizzled out. Its been rainy and not very sunny so far this week and its forecast to rain for the weekend.

The Boss has been moaning about it but actually I prefer the weather to be a bit cooler.

Flower Power

Dare has a odd habit of nibbling the flowers and grass around the garden. I am not sure if he prefers the taste of the grass or the flowers.

This is him having a nibble on the Lobelia today.

The boss says this is quite normal for dogs. I think I prefer my dog food.

Chip & me playing

Me and Chip like to play. This is a Youtube video of us having a game in the garden chasing the ball.

Chip is a Patterdale Terrier but as you can see I am teaching him to be an English Shepherd.

Wimbledon demo

We went to Wimbledon Common today to help out with a flyball demonstration. Well Auntie Breeze was helping out but I went along to watch.

This is them getting ready to race, Auntie Breeze is the dog on the end. It was quite nice weather today blue sky and a bit of sun shine.

This is me and Auntie Breeze enjoying the Hog Roast rolls after the demo, they were very tasty...

A go at Flyball

I had a go at flyball training today. I only chased a ball, no box work as I am to young.

I did find the other dogs really interesting and I was in two minds if I should chase them or the ball. Apparently I am a stroppy teenager at the moment...

This is me staring at our cat Tabby, she is really, really interesting. If flyball involved chasing cats I would be a world champion.

Tired Thursday

Had my weekly obedience lesason again today. As you can see its tired me right out. Loads and loads of work, I was glad to get back home.

Must get some more beauty sleep...

Mad Mutts

We were at the MadMutts flyball tournament today at Millets Farm in Oxfordshire. More lovely sunny weather.

Chip and Auntie Breezes team won there division which was exciting to watch.

This is a Youtube video of one of the races, , there is a false start and the beginning of the clip. Auntie Breeze is the second dog to race in the main race. Chip is the very small last dog.

Happy 3rd July ?

We had a barbecue tonight because it was a lovely sunny day here in London.

But I have a question, I have heard that its American Independence day today. My Mum and Dad are American but I am one of the first 'English' English Shepherds. Now should I celebrate it as well ?

This is me and Chip watching the food being cooked on the barbecue.

We did get some food in the end as well !
