Old England

There has been a little family trip this week (without me!) to the Cotswold's which is a very pretty and old part of England. Apparently you could have taken dogs to the hotel and I would have been good, honest...

This is Bourton-on-the-Water where they stayed the night.

There is a river that runs through the village which is wide but quite shallow. The local vilagers hold a game of football in it each year.

They also went to Stow-on the-Wold. This hotel there called The Royalist, that says it is the oldest hotel in England and has a sign saying 947AD. Now that's old!

This is the town & square with an old stone cross in the middle.

And finally this a village called Bidbury. These are some of its 17th century weavers cottages.

I bet they could tell some stories.

Fantastic pictures! That looks like such a wonderful trip. Too bad you didn't get to go :) You would have loved to play in that water too I'll bet!

947AD. That's even older than I am! Your English villages are so terrific. I'll have to see them through your blog since I'll never get there. Loved your pics!

Familiar views of a well loved area. Unfortunately I haven't visited Bidbury so thanks for sharing pictures of those wonderful old cottages.
