England win the Ashes

Back in December England started playing Australia at cricket in a regular contest that first started way back in 1882. And I posted about it here in the blog in case you missed it.

Well last night we won the series 3-1 and the Ashes in the process.

Loads of records were broken along the way and it was the first series win England have had in Australia for quite a few years.

For those of you that watch 'quick' sports you might be surprised to learn that a full test cricket match (and there were 4 matches in this series) can last up to 5 days and the top England batsman in this series Alastair Cook batted for a total of 36 hours on the field and scored 766 runs, the 2nd highest ever by an English batsman.

Well done England!

How many 4's and 6's did Alistair collect? Oh my gosh I used to love cricket but kind of drifted away from it. Who is the record holder for the highest score in England? Beating Aus on their home ground is never easy so congrats England!!
