Cool new floor

We have a new floor in the living room. Its wooden to replace the old carpet, much cooler.

But there is also a nice little rug near the fire that looks very inviting for all those cold winter evenings that are on the way.

That's if someone else does not get there first.

More Flyball from the weekend

As promised some more flyball pictures and a video.

This is Chip doing a very impressive swimmers turn after getting the tennis ball.

Dare is just finishing a run back in this picture.

And a Youtube video of Chips team winning one of the races (he is the last dog on this side).

Little Chip looks very fast to me.

Active Dare

Flyball again this weekend. I couldn't go but Dare, Chip & Auntie Breeze did. It was in Capstone Country Park in Kent and the weather was really good.

This is Chip running.

This is Dare about to grab the ball.

And this Dare enjoying the Sun.

Wales

Well packing the bag worked as the Boss took me out in the car today. When I got out at the other end we were in another country, Wales!

This is me in a Welsh field. This was OK because there were no dogs about.

I know what you are thinking that field could be just round the corner from my house. So the boss took a couple of pictures of road signs (from the passenger seat) on the way back.

Can you see the bottom of this road sign is in Welsh, apparently the signs are written in English and Welsh in Wales.

This is the road sign that welcomes you back to England which was nice of them, me being an English, English Shepherd.

Indoors

Still confined to being indoors and in garden so I am going a bit stir crazy at the moment. I have even got my bag packed just in case.

Well done Chip

Congratulations to Chip as his points have just come up on the BFA (British Flyball Association) website and he now has his FDI award (Flyball Dog Intermediate) for getting over 1000 points in flyball races.

Not bad for a little lad.

Rug

Its been quite hot today and as I am confined to the House and garden at the moment I have been taking the opportunity to enjoy the cool floor in the hallway.

Rather unkindly I think, I was told that in this picture I look like one of those stuffed bear rugs you sometimes see in films.

Unusually attractive

The boss says that I am unusually attractive to male dogs at the moment. So I cannot go out for my normal walks for a while.

I thought I was always unusually attractive...

Training picture

This is a photo of me at flyball training leaping over the jumps.

I think I look like I am flying !

Busy weekend

Another Flyball tournament this weekend this time at the Paws in the Park show in Kent at the Hop Farm. They say is the largest outdoor dog show in the UK.

Loads of people at the show so its good for them to be able to see flyball racing.

Chip and Auntie Breeze were both competing, this is Chip whacked out after all the racing. Chips team came second with a brand new fastest time of 19.50 for the team.

Auntie Breeze is never tired after a flyball competition no matter how many races she does, apparently its a Border Collie thing.

Well done England

Congratulations to England's football team qualifying for the World Cup finals. They beat Croatia 5-1 tonight in their group to qualify for next summer's World Cup in South Africa.

Obviously being English I am just a bit pleased ;-)

From what I have seen on the TV football also involves chasing a ball around so it must be a bit like flyball...

Why Chip

Norwood has asked why Chip was named Chip.

Well if you look in this picture you will see on one of his front paws he has a small bit of white and one white nail. So it looks a bit the black coat has been chipped off him.

(Plus of course its a very nice name)

Cartoon Chip

I think little Chip looks quite like a cartoon Chipmunk when you see his face in this picture.

Mind you how does he see out of all that hair?

Comfy Dare Chair

Dare as you can see is fine after his flyball exploits.

This is him today making the settee much more comfortable by chucking all the cushions on the floor.

Why does he do this?

Training today

I went to flyball training today. This is Chip crossing with Patsy (flyball is a sort of relay race).

And this is Chip crossing with Kaiza .

Dare broke one of the jumps during training but he is fine. I think they are meant to break if they are hit to hard.

Walk in the park

Well no rain today and it brightened up so me and Auntie Breeze had a very long run the the park which was great.

As you can see it cheered me right up.

Great thinker

Chip says he is a great thinker and spends his quiet moments contemplating the world and the important issues of the day.

But I think he is just lazying around.

(and looks a bit like a Lion in a tree in this picture)

Lazy day

The weather has taken a turn for the worse so far this week. It was bright but rainy yesterday afternoon and then it got really heavy so no chance of a nice evening walk.

Even Auntie Breeze looked a bit fed up with all the rain.
