Snow(ish)

Well some finally arrived this morning but only a dusting so its a bit of a disappointment so far. Plus its almost all gone away again.

Lots of other places in England have already had loads and loads of snow. The boss says but at least its still easy to get around still.

Funny feeling

Its been snowing in England this weekend but hasn't reached us yet. The weather forecast said it might have got to us by today but nothing so far.

Flyball training was called off today because the ground was frozen hard. So we made do with a run in the park instead.

Do you get that feeling sometimes that you are being watched...

The Ashes

For those Americans who read this blog you may never have heard of the Ashes. Its a cricket series played between England and Australia and the first one started way back in 1882. It happening at the moment in Australia and hopefully England will win the series.

Basically when the Australians won for the first time way back then the newspapers said it was the death of English Cricket, hence the ashes.

On a slightly different note its a bit chillier here than over in sunny Australia at the moment. We might be even getting some snow soon and as you can see the leaves are falling still.

Well you get the idea!

Great racing today

We were at Maidstone in Kent today for our last flyball tournament of the year. I was racing with my team mates in Division 4 our team is called Lightning Bolt.

This is a YouTube video of a couple of the races today.

It starts with me bouncing up and down with excitement before the race. My team is the one nearest to you in the first race and then furthest away in the second race. I am the last dog running in my team.

In case you are wondering we did win both of those races on the video!

Training

Flyball training went very well on Sunday and I have had no ill effects. This was the first time back since the vet episode.

These are a couple of pictures of me at training, from one side.

And one from my other side.

And also one of Auntie Breeze, she has been doing flyball for a while and has got her Flyball Dog Advanced title.

She is very determined. Nothing ever puts her off not even other teams dogs running across during a race!

Paws high

I had a nice run in the park today. It was a bit of a warm up for tomorrows flyball training.

The boss does not always notice that I am waiting for the ball.

Look come on this is what I am waiting for.

But it was not all just standing about today.

Hungry

Since my little trip to the vets last week I have been very hungry all the time.

When people eat sweets I would love to join in. But unfortunately I never seem to be given any.

I wonder who that sweet is for it looks very tasty.

It better not be for him...

The tests are clear

The vet phoned to say the blood sample they sent off did not show anything. So its a bit of a mystery what was wrong with me last week other than it was some sort of gastroenteritis problem.

So we went out today to the Park. Its the first good run I have since my stay in the vets.

It was quite chilly today very autumnal weather.

But we all enjoyed it.

Two today

Well I am two years old today. Its not been the sort of Birthday week I had planned !

I got a very nice Birthday card from everyone.

And some presents. My favorite one was this rubbery ball.

You can also play catch or even tuggy with it.

At least you can until Chip joins in as well ...

Convalescing

Many thanks for all get well wishes.

You will be pleased to hear that I seem to be on the mend at the moment from the weekends episode, but its early days. I am taking all the tablets without spitting them out which is (apparently) good of me.

I am not allowed to go out yet and the food I have to eat at the moment is special horrible vet stuff to help my tummy recover.

In fact I will not be able to go out for a week or so just to make sure I am OK. And I will miss out on some training.

Oh dear here comes some more of those tablets and they are bigger than I remembered ...

Unwell

I haven't been very well over the weekend. I was rushed into the vets surgery on Sunday and had to stay in overnight. They put me on a drip and gave me some injections. The vet took some tests to send off to a lab to see if they can find out what was causing the problems.

I came home again today as I was a bit better. I will have to take tablets for a few days and eat some special food. We will keep everything crossed its all been sorted out.

I am enjoying some real home comforts again at the moment.
