Knights Templar

The weather has been very wet these last couple of days so no walks in the park, just round a couple of streets each day.

When were were in the park the other day we saw this Church which sits in the Park grounds and is called St Dunstan's. It looks quite old but its even older than it looks.

Apparently a pre-Christian Chapel may have sat on this site in Roman times. The present Christian Church may have been started in Saxon times. During the reign of Edward the Confessor the Manor was owned by Turstan, the King's Thane it was later given to the Order of the Knights Templars but it was given to the Knights Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem. when the Templers were 'abolished'.

Funny how its close to a modern Motorway and the Airport and I bet hardly anyone realises how very old it is!

Its a very nice Park as well.

Chip the Patterdale Terrier

For those fans of Chip the terrier this post is a bit of a Chip compilation from today.

We were both out in a park that we don't normally go to. It has some big open spaces.

And some very nice wooded bits, good for exploring.

Chip of course did his normal barking routine.

Now I do try and show him where the ball is as you can see in this video. But he is so busy barking he has lost the plot a bit.

Chip doesn't just confine his antics to outside as you can also see in this video called 'Chip and the Monster Hand...'

Holly and ...

Say hello to another of my Sisters, Holly. She lives with her family in East Kilbride which is just outside Glasgow in Scotland.

Doesn't she look allot like me!

Holly is doing Agility training at the moment which sounds like a lot of fun. Like me she also keeps the garden and house safe from all those nasty intruders like foxes, us English Shepherds do like a job to do.

We also both like to sleep downstairs in our conservatory's must be a family thing!

Holly is going to be joined by another English Shepherd boy called Zach in May 2010 who is coming all the way from America. Zach has to have a pet passport before he comes over hence the wait. Isn't he handsome!

Holly's family also had a English Shepherd called Jake who unfortunately passed over rainbow bridge last Summer.

His family didn't know Jake was an English Shepherd straight away as we are so unusual in the UK.

What a lovely lad.

Out in the Park

Chip as normal got very excited, running everywhere and barking nonstop.

Which is great.

As long as its not right in your ear.

Your not having this ball back Chip until you stop barking...

Boxing Day

We are hopefully off out today for a good run to burn off all that Christmas food.

Turkey tastes quite nice, can I have some more ?

Christmas Morning

Its Christmas morning so its time to open gifts..

Auntie Breeze got some Dog sweets.

Whats this ?

A squeaky penguin toy, lovely! (How do I hide it from Chip!)

A Very Merry Christmas Day from us all.

A very Merry and Happy Christmas to everyone :-)

Snowy park

Some rain and snow this evening so I am not sure if we will have any snow still tomorrow.

This is me over the park in what was left of the snow.

And a YouTube video of me getting a tennis ball back. You should be able to hear the church bells ringing in the distance which was quite festive.

I think I do quite a good 'sit' as well.

Jumper

Bit chilly out in the park today so Chip being a Terrier had to wear a jumper as he feels the cold.

He does Cute.

And Barky

Dare blends in with the snowy landscape, quite well camouflaged when hunting for those wild winter tennis balls.

I am not sure he picked the best spot to hide this time...

No more yet

No more snow falls overnight but it didn't melt in the garden anymore today. So it still looks very festive.

Me and Chip had a good game of rough and tumble on the lawn in the garden and the boss got a bit of it on video.

Chip said he thought it was more like a game of 'drag the terrier' than 'rough and tumble'.

More ?

The snow has stayed on the grass all day but melted on the garden path. Now its started to freeze and turn to ice so we better be careful we don't slip over.

It may snow again tonight. But I cannot see it falling again yet.

Maybe its going to come from this direction.

I will keep watch out to see what happens and let you know.

Snow !!!

We are just having the first snowfall of December here in London.

It was sunny but cold today and there were a few snow flakes during the day but it would not settle. But now its nighttime its falling faster and it has started to settle.

I think it looks very festive out on the road with the all street lights and the snow flakes falling.

Its nice how snow makes everything look so clean and fresh.

More on the settee

Its still chilly outside, and its going to get colder as the week goes on according to the weather forecast.

Nice and warm for us three on the settee however.

Chilly Flyball

Its Sunday so its flyball training again today (the last one before Christmas is next week) It turned a bit chilly but I love cold weather so I enjoyed myself.

Zooming down

Zooming back with the ball.

And having a good tug as a reward after the run.

Welsh suite

We went to Wales in September to order something and it has arrived. Its a three piece suite made in Wales. Apparently allot of the three piece suite's sold in the UK are sent all the way from China.

I think its nice and it must be better to buy something large that is locally made in the UK. The boss said it would also help our carbon footprint.

Its that like the muddy footprints that I make on the floor when I come in from the garden?

Apple

This is another of the Edenvillage 11, Apple my Sister and she lives in Scotland on a farm in Roxburghshire which is in the Scottish Borders.

Apple also appears to be much better behaved with cats than me.

Just like Abbie I think she looks a lot like me.

Bath night

More very muddy flyball training today so it was baths all round tonight, apart from me.

Chip had the first bath. As you can see he really enjoys the water. That's my nose, I was checking out what was going on.

Dare does not like baths, can you tell... Look at the colour of the water !!!!

Chip was trying to get back in with him.

Run like a Cheetah

Another run out in the park today as the weather stayed fine this morning but its raining now.

This is me and Auntie Breeze bringing the tennis ball back. Well I am bringing it back and she is chasing after me.

This is me zooming after the ball again, the boss thinks I look a bit like a cheetah or a lion running in this picture.

Not sure I look like a cat :-)

The Sun has got his hat on...

Well just to prove I don't spend all my time in the house here are some pictures from today in the park. The weather was really nice and Sunny if a little cold. But it is December after all.

I think this is my best side.

Or perhaps this is, I am not sure.

The boss held up the tennis ball chucker to get me look this way, and give me a treat to eat afterwards.

Every dog has her price...

Warm floor

I wasn't sure when they got this wooden laminate floor in the summer to replace the carpet in the living room if it would be warm enough when it got chillier.

But its seems fine and its just passed the Wizz snooze test.

White Rabbits

'White Rabbits'. Apparently its what you say when you wake up on the first day and it is meant to give you luck for the rest of the month.

So here is wishing you lots of White Rabbits for December.
